Aerobatic Show
Welcome to one of the world's largest and most prestigious aerobatic shows. Held in the Oasis City of Al Ain - Abu Dhabi's heritage heartland, the show has the patronage of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. Annually attracting a glittering array of the world's foremost aerobatics teams and performers, the show is a cornerstone of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority's major events portfolio.
Organisers - Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority
The authority, established in September 2004, has wide ranging responsibilities for managing and developing the emirate's tourism industry. These include; destination marketing; infrastructure and product development and regulation and classification. A key role is to create synergy in the international promotion of Abu Dhabi through close co-ordination with the emirate's hotels, destination management companies, airlines and other public and private sector travel-related organisations.
Organisers - UAE Air Force & Air Defence
With around 5,000 personnel, the UAE Air Force operates C.212 Aviocar 100s and CN.235Ms. and has recently ordered CN.295 Persuaders, a stretched and upgraded version of the CN.235. It also operates a variety of helicopters, including the AH-64 Apache, SA-342 Gazelle, and the AS-565 Panther. The current air force fighter fleet consists of Mirage 2000s and Hawks (61/61 and 102 versions) though 30 Mirage 2000-9s are on order and the Mirage 2000 fleet is being upgraded to the -9 configuration. The UAE Air Force has opted for the F-16 Block 60 as its newest advanced fighter.
